Enable Offline status in Office communicator.

This post will be helpful for those who have Microsoft office communicator in their office. At times you may need to be online, but need to appear offline. I will tell you how to achieve this since Office communicator 2007 does not come with an "Appear Offline" status option.

Open the Run window and type "regedit" and hit enter. This will open the registry for you. Here go to this path on the left panel.
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator

Now select the "Communicator" on the left panel. Then on the right panel, right clcik and create a New DWORD with name as "EnableAppearOffline" and set the value to be "1". The type of DWORD should be REG DWORD.


That's it. Now, just exit the communicator from system tray and login again. After loggin in you will have a new status set option-"Appear Offline".

How to Test the Working of your Antivirus

Most of the windows users always think about the best antivirus for our pc. But sometimes the antivirus might not be working well or correctly. Sometimes you wanna check the working of your antivirus but the question is how to check whether the antivirus is working correctly or not. Today I am going to tell you about a small test which can be used by users to test the working of your antivrus software. The test is called as EICAR test which can be used to test any antivirus and was developed by European Institute of Computer Antivirus Research (EICAR). So now you don’t need a computer virus to test the working of your antivirus you can simple do so by following the steps given below.

1. First of all open a notepad and copy the following code into the notepad and save it as anything.txt.

X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

2. Rename the file from New Text Document.TXT to myfile.com

3. Now run the antivirus scan on this myfile.com file.

If the antivirus is working correctly then it should give a warning or alert and delete the file immediately. If no such warning or alert message is displayed then you either need to re-install your antivirus or change the antivirus. Important thing to note here is that most of the antivirus will display a warning message in step 1 itself and will remove the file.

The Love story

You might be wondering what I'm gonna write on this love story. In fact this is not a story, but a real incident. The hero of this story is not me, but his name is Eduardo.
Eduardo is not an English, he's an Indian living in southern India in a small state of Kerala..
Shit.. This is crap.. I don't to write this. Sorry guys.
Infact i wanted to write about my friend whom I met today at the liquid lounge. He narrated his beautiful love story to me. However, I do not have skill for that but soon that post will be on through a guest blogger.!

Go to Control Panel, go to Administrative tools


Double click on Computer management. Under that on the left pane click and expnad the Local Users and Groups. Then click on Users.


Then on the right pane select the user whose password you want to change and then right click.




Select the "Set password" option and then click on Proceed if you agree and futher provide the new password.!
It's done.
